Thanksgiving/Weekend

What a refreshing long weekend I had! Thursday was Thanksgiving. We had a great day with my parents and a healthy menu. We ordered an organic, free-range, brined turkey from Whole Foods. It was great! We used NO butter! Normally, Anand makes an herb butter with 2-3 sticks of butter and rubs it all over the turkey. Not this year! We put an herb rub on top of it and threw it in the oven! We made roasted squash (with a bit of maple syrup) & carrots. The mashed potatoes were cooked with most of the skin on for added fiber and we added roasted garlic & chicken stock for flavor. Anand made a biryani stuffing which was super spicy. I made "stuffing muffins" but they were super dry so I wasn't tempted. I did have a tiny slice of pecan pie (my fave!) but other than that I kept it healthy.

On Saturday, I had my first ever massage! My friend, Rebecca, had suggested that we get one. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. Well, I LOVED it! It was heavenly. I plan on bringing Anand for a couples massage-he will love it! In fact, the entire time I was on the table I kept thinking how much he would like it!

We re-joined the YMCA this weekend! Anand is officially back on the fitness train! We took the girls swimming yesterday-they loved it. This morning, Anand went to the Y to swim laps and run on the treadmill before work. I did my 2 classes this morning. I was the only one at the Body Shop class, so I got some one-on-one training!

I'm nervous about Weight Watchers tomorrow night because I didn't go to the gym at all last week due to Maya being sick Monday & Tuesday and with the holiday. I did get some ab work in on Thanksgiving and swimming yesterday. My ME First facilitation meeting is Wednesday. I'm getting another $45-hmmm...what do I want?!
