Day at the Beach!

Our poor house is pretty neglected these days. In fact, I keep telling Anand the outside is looking like an abandoned house. So, the plan for Saturday was to do yardwork. Well, on the way to work Friday morning I heard that it was supposed to be sunny & 75 on Saturday. In Maine, we don't have a whole lot of those perfect days, so I called Anand immediately and suggested we go to the beach. He said he had been thinking the same thing. So, sorry yardwork, the beach won out. Maybe next week?

We packed a picnic, stopped at Target for some sand chairs & beach toys for the girls and then we were off. When we arrived, we found the perfect little picnic area:

Anand has always wanted to have a BBQ on the beach, so we were prepared for that. We brought along chicken breasts, bbq sauce, I made an awesome cabbage & lime slaw with roasted peanuts, and fruit (peaches & cherries).

After lunch, we headed down to the beach. We set up chairs, blankets, towels, and went to the water to build sandcastles. 

And bury each other in the sand!

We played in the water and jumped some waves. It was a great day!
