Day 17 of Project: ME!

Day 17 was MY BIRTHDAY! And what a FABULOUS day it was! It started out with coffee in bed-love that! Anand gave me a card (along with a gift card to buy something special!) that he had written in. He wrote from the heart and it was beautiful :) He asked if there was anything special I wanted to do. Well, what do I love best? SHOPPING! So, we went to Providence Place. We walked around Tiffany and looked at all the beautiful jewelry in the pretty little blue boxes.

Then, we went to PF Changs for lunch. FABULOUS. We had the lettuce wraps and the Chang's Chicken Noodle Soup, which were both out of this world. After a leisurely lunch, we walked around the mall some more. We wandered upon a group of musicians playing Christmas Carols, so we decided to sit down and enjoy the music for a while. While we were sitting, all of a sudden, "snow" started falling! It was truly magical! So fun & romantic!

After listening to the music, we got an iced coffee and walked around a bit. Then, we thought about going to the movies, but decided to go back to the hotel and rest for going out in the evening (people my age need to rest up LOL!). So that's what we did! After some rest, we got all dressed up to go for dinner. We went to Spain, which was the BEST restaurant I've ever been to. It was incredible! They had a valet & coat check, so I felt super fancy :) We went into the lounge and had a drink while waiting for our table. The service was absolutely impeccable! Once we were seated, they brought us some warm bread with an infused butter (heavenly) and I had a glass of their famous sangria. We decided to pass on appetizers since we wanted to enjoy our entrees. I ordered stuffed rainbow trout (stuffed with crab & shrimp), which was served with spanish rice and roasted vegetables (carrots, green beans). It was absolutely amazing! Anand had the Paella which he also loved. When our food was served, Anand asked one of our waiters (seriously, we had at least 4 of them-the service is so attentive!) to take a picture. What I didn't know at the time (genius move) was that he had typed on his phone that it was my birthday. So, the server took the picture without giving any hint whatsoever that he was reading something. Here is the picture:

After our dinner, several waiters (their wait staff appeared to be all male-plus in my book :) )appeared with a small tres leche cake (OMG-words cannot even express how good that cake was!) and sang Happy Birthday to me in Spanish. I asked Anand how they knew and he told me. The waiter came over and told him it was the most creative way anyone has told him. He shook his hand :) It was funny!

It was a very memorable birthday with memories I'll cherish forever :)
