Weekend in New York!

This past weekend was a holiday weekend (President's Day), so we decided to make it a fun one by visiting our friends in New York. Gowri & Dantu's son, Neil, had just celebrated his 2nd birthday, so Gowri thought it would be fun to take the kids to see this:

Sesame Street Live at Madison Square Garden!

We arrived at Dantu & Gowri's on Saturday afternoon. That evening, we went to the mall. The kids went on the carousel and had a blast. We went out for dinner after at a great brick oven pizzeria. Sunday morning, we hung out while the kids played. Then, it was time for the big show! Well, it didn't start out so great. We stopped to get gas before heading to the city and could not open the fuel door to the car. The cable was broken. Great. Thankfully, D & G let us use their other vehicle so we could all get to the show. (Thanks Guys!) We got to the theater at MSG just in time to watch the show. All the kids (and adults!) loved it!

The girls especially loved Zoey!

Dantu & Gowri bought them each a Zoey doll...

After the show, we headed to Times Square. Suri had said she wanted to "sing in Times Square"-her wish was about to come true!

The girls were pretty much mesmerized by all the lights & people. Here is Suri taking it all in:

Suri sang and then called Grammie to tell her!

We stopped at Baked by Melissa and got some mini cupcakes-WOW! The peanut butter & jelly was my favorite :)

We had a really great time! The next morning, I asked Suri what her favorite part was. Her answer? Getting a hot dog! She was mesmerized by the hotdog vendors...LOL. She never did eat it-we had already had dinner and they both crashed the minute we hit the car.

Monday morning, we bid farewell to Dantu & Gowri and went to get the car fixed. We stopped at the best bakery ever and then headed north.

It was a great weekend. Thank you Gowri & Dantu for a wonderful weekend full of happy memories!
