First Infusion Scheduled

I've been pretty busy since MY LAST UPDATE. My insurance approved the Rituxan for six months, so my first infusion is scheduled for Friday, August 30 (my mother's birthday) and I have infusions scheduled for the following seven Fridays. I had an echocardiogram and had an appointment with my Cardiologist. The echo showed MILD DIASTOLIC DYSFUNCTION, but he feels confident that the Rituxan won't affect my heart. He did say to watch for symptoms of heart failure-swelling in my hands, legs, and abdomen, palpitations, shortness of breath, etc. If they occur, I need to call for medication. I left feeling fairly assured-as assured as I can be, I suppose.

I've been preparing at home as much as possible and getting things in order for the girls. Anand will drive me and stay with me during the infusions, so we needed someone to take care of the girls. They will be in school, so getting them on/off the bus and taking care of them until we get home. My mother will be staying over on Thursday nights-that will be a huge help! My aunt will also be helping, and Sage has offered to help as well. I love my family! It definitely helps not having to worry about the girls' care so that I can focus on relaxing as much as possible.

I'm still really nervous, but just trying to take it one step at a time for now.
