Yesterday morning, we headed up to visit my parents at their campsite for the day. First on the agenda: drop the kids off with the grandparents and take our first long ride together! We planned our route and headed out...for a 26.5 mile ride-my longest yet. I've only had my bike for a week, and my longest ride was 10.7 miles, so I wasn't sure if I was up for the challenge. The first half of the ride wasn't too bad, although there were a lot of hills. Once we got to our halfway point, I was definitely ready to get back to the campground! I was pretty tired. When I saw the campground sign, I was so happy! We rode into the campground and saw Maya & Suri and my parents-then the pride sat in! I was so proud! I honestly did not think I could do it...it just goes to show, I'm much stronger than I give myself credit for!
I practically ran to the shower and after I caught my breath, the good old cycling high kicked in. I swear there is NOTHING better than that feeling.
Today I am resting and reading. I wonder what tomorrow will bring...
Here we are at our halfway point:

This is about 3/4 through our ride:
