I went to WW last night and was feeling a little down sorry for myself after finding out I gained .6. Well, looking back makes me wonder why it wasn't more but that's a whole other story. Anyway, my friend Monika said she was going to come over with some fresh herbs to cheer me up. She showed up with 2 HUGE bunches of fresh herbs from her organic garden-basil, mint, lemon balm (holy cow this stuff is awesome! Tastes & smells like sweet lemons!), chives, chervil, some peas, and some gorgeous flowers! The girls had fun playing with her and had her read books to them. And now Anand wants chickens but that's another story altogether!
Here are some pictures:
Maya & Suri LOVED the peas (Monika showed them how to open them and told them they are "sweet like candy"-that did the trick! They Love them now!)
Side note: Monika just told me Lemon balm is also called Melissa Officianalis.
Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, was also known as Melissa, the Queen Bee. She's a smart cookie!
Thank you Monika! I promise to make the most of them!
(after she left, I made a whole wheat couscous dish with tons of fresh veggies & herbs. Added a little sriracha sauce and packed it for lunch!) Tonight I have another healthy dish in mind...
Oh, Monika just added another little bit of information for all you inquiring minds out there:
Hey, did you know that Kamadeva, a Hindu god of love has a bow made of sugar cane and a bowstring of bees?
They'll sting your heart.
Love her!
