Chicago Day One!

For my first official duty as President-elect of MeHIMA, I attended the AHIMA 2010 Summer Team Talks & Leadership Conference. Since Anand & I rarely get away by ourselves, I convinced him to tag along! We flew out of Portland early Thursday morning via Jet Blue.

 Jet Blue ROCKS! Lots of leg room, tv screens on the back of every seat-LOVE! We had a 1.5 hour layover at JFK and arrived at O'Hare a little after noon.
We got adventurous and decided to use the CTA-we took the train to State/Lake and then took a cab to our hotel.

 We are staying at the Swissotel on the 35th floor-the view is incredible...

So, we check into the hotel and what is the first thing Anand does?!

Make sure the TV works, of course!

We settled in, then decided to head over to the Navy Pier.

We had some photo booth photos!

And decided to go get some drinks!
We went to Harry Caray's (bonus points if you know who Harry Caray is...we had no idea!). I had a Soto's Call (Sweet Tea Vodka & Lemonade with a Lemon Twist...YUM!). Anand had a beer. Or two.

And we had some calamari!

Oh, calamari, how I love you...

Then, we went to an IMAX theater to watch...

LOVE! I even had my picture taken with the vampire & wolf...

Ok...side note: seriously, is there any comparison?! TEAM JACOB all the way. Although, I think Bella belongs with Edward, Jacob is clearly the winner in the looks department!

We headed back to the Pier and walked around some more.

Sat on an anchor:

Found a giant noodle! Doesn't it look like Kraft Macaroni & Cheese?!

Then, we decided to go to Chinatown!

Had dinner, then took the bus back to somewhere (?) and walked back to the hotel.

It was a great day! See you tomorrow...
