FRIDAY!

It was nice having a short work week! Monday was Columbus Day, so I had the day off and then decided to take Tuesday off as well so we could have some family time. I already reviewed the weekend, so we'll skip ahead to Wednesday!

Wednesday:
I started the day off with a trip to the gym to get a workout in. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. It was great! Then, I worked and met with my wellness coach, Nancy, in the afternoon. We had a nice chat about goals & my thoughts. I told her that I wasn't really sure about what goal to set at the moment because I feel like I'm in a really great place and I'm working towards my bigger goals. We discussed how "maintaining" the work that I've been doing is a goal in itself. I feel like I'll know when it's time to add a new goal, but right now I'm very happy with the progress I'm working on. I also asked her about something I've been pondering since the last facilitation we had. We're working on life stories right now and it can get pretty heavy. It boggles my mind that so many people have been through such horrible trauma in their lives. Although I've definitely had my share of struggles as an adult, I had a great childhood. It got me thinking because I have definitely struggled in life, but at a time when I was old enough to take care of myself-not at a time when I was dependent on someone else to take care of me. I started to wonder if I tend to minimize my own struggles-do I see them as not as important as other people's? After much discussion, it came down to me judging myself. It's not that I think people will look down on me, it's that I look down on myself-as if my problems aren't "as important" as what other people have been through. When I said it out loud, I realized. Then, to top it off, Nancy told me that from what she was hearing from me, she thinks it is not that I'm minimizing my own struggles, but that I'm a sensitive & caring person. My response? ROLLING MY EYES. And she "caught" me-I was judging myself again-what me? caring & sensitive?! ! Immediately, we both laughed at each other! I LOVE this new group because I am learning so much about myself! Wednesday evening, I picked up the girls and we went home to a meal of crockpot chicken salsa waiting for us-easy & done! Love that!

Thursday:
I started the morning off with a workout with Tony, who was super chatty & motivating which is always nice. (Yes, I do love to talk)   :)
I went to work where I had a CRAZY day-it was nuts. One thing after another. I had planned on going to cycling class, but 20 minutes before all hell broke loose at work. I did change into my workout clothes, but unfortunately was not able to walk away. That dampened my mood for sure as I love cycling class :( and since I had missed out on Tuesday I really wanted to go. But, what can you do? Keep moving ahead! Thursday evening I picked up the girls and went home. I made salmon, whole wheat couscous and broccoli & mushroom stirfry for dinner. Then, I packed my bag and got ready for the next day.

FRIDAY!:
I went to the gym this morning and did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Work all day, then the girls have dance class tonight. Then, who knows?! It's a rainy day, so perhaps a movie on the couch tonight?!

Weekend Plans:
Tomorrow morning the girls & I are doing the Walk for Hope. Then, I will do some cleaning, meal plan for next week, and grocery shop. That's about it so far. We'll see what the weekend brings!

Have a great weekend!

  3. Hi Cat Eye! I am in a wellness program at work where I have lots of support-personal trainer, wellness coach, nutrition specialist, and nurse. I work out with a trainer 3 times per week(flex/strength/cardio), and then add in other exercise. Currently I'm doing spinning twice a week and 1-2 days of elliptical.
Good luck to you! For me, it's all about planning & making goals!
