Good morning and Happy Monday! I know, I know-it's Monday, but it's all what you make it, right?! I had a much needed weekend alone with my husband. Just the two of us. Priceless! It started out Friday night with sushi and asian pear saketinis at Ichiban...yum! I almost forgot to take a picture, but remembered with the last two pieces.
Saturday morning, we made plans to go to The Breakers in Newport. We started at Nick's on Broadway for breakfast. Wow! The atmosphere and food was really great! Nick's specializes in local, in season food. It was so good! I had the Baked Geer Farm corn & Vermont cheddar polenta with two eggs, baby spinach and parmesan cheese. Anand had the special-white fish served with sauteed spring veggies. I finished with a cappuccino. Delicious! We will definitely go back.
Then, we headed to Newport! What a beautiful place!
We went on the tour of The Breakers which was fantastic! What a gorgeous mansion and the view was absolutely breathtaking. It totally reminded me of Downton Abbey!
We walked and walked and walked! Then, we decided to go to a wharf for cold drinks and an appetizer. We ended up on the patio at The Black Pearl. I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon and we shared some mussels:
We walked around the wharf some more and then decided to get some Ben & Jerry's! I had a child size cone of cookie dough! Yum!
What a beautiful day! The weather was absolutely perfect. We found some fun things to do with the girls-a gorgeous beach and a train ride. Can't wait to go back!
That evening, we went to see Snow White and the Huntsman-it was a great movie!
It was a great weekend!
