We even saw a teeny tiny grasshopper-the smallest one I have ever seen!
After 45 minutes went by, I was feeling a bit tense wondering where my "hikers" were. I decided at that point that I would wait ten more minutes and then head back to where we had dropped them off. Five minutes later, my phone rang. I answered and it was Anand. He said they had gotten lost (still on the trail but on the complete opposite side) and he found a man who knows the trails like the back of his hand. Stroke of luck! He sounded a bit panicky and said Suri was tired, but they would be back in about half an hour and told me where they would be. Maya & I headed down and I worried about how they were doing and if this person helping them we a psychopath or not. After 45 minutes, he called and said they would be there in about 15 minutes. This time, he sounded great! He said Suri was doing great and they were fine. That relieved me. About ten minutes later, he called and told me where they were. Maya & I went to pick them up. I've never felt so happy to see them! They were fine and Suri was excited to tell me about their adventure! I met their guardian angel, Jim, who was a great guy! Turns out he is a professional soccer coach at Colby College. How perfect is that...a COACH?!
Here are my rogue hikers:
We went back up to Mt. Battie for our picnic and then walked around Camden. They are already planning their next hike. Next time we are all going and we will be prepared :)
What a day!
On Sunday, we headed to Trader Joe's to stock up for the week. I wanted to prep really good since I have surgery on Wednesday. The key for me is prep and that is what I did. After shopping, we went to El Rayo Taqueira for lunch. Yum, we split an order of oysters on a half shell as an appetizer. LOVE fresh oysters. I had a bowl for lunch and it was fantastic! It had chicken, black beans, rice, romaine, avocado, and cotija cheese.
The girls tried a bit of bean bag toss,
Then, it was time to head home. We put the groceries away and decided to go see this:
LOVED this movie! It was so cute! It was a bit scary for the girls, but they pulled through :)
Then, it was home and time to finish laundry, have dinner, clean up, make lunches for the week, get the girls ready for dance camp....ahhh the fun never ends! :)
