Assemble File Cabinets...CHECK!

We had been working on getting our basement organized into an office area, but it suddenly came to a halt. We had purchased 2 new lateral file cabinets for the office a couple months back, but they were still sitting in boxes. On Saturday, I decided it was time to get the things together! So, I went to the basement, opened box number 1 and looked at the BOOK of instructions. After sitting there for about 30 minutes, I decided this was definitely a job for my husband. These were literally in about a thousand pieces! After about an hour, file cabinet number 1 was assembled! The second one took about 20 minutes! Thanks honey!

The handles didn't match our decor, so I changed them out to these...

Much better! They really warmed the room up a lot! LOVE them. While moving another piece of furniture around, I discovered some mold on the molding. OH NO. It looked like it had just started, so I cleaned it with a bleach solution. Then, we went and bought a dehumidifier. When hubby plugged it in, it was showing a humidity reading of 70! After running for a couple of hours, it dropped down to 30! What a difference-the entire room feels (and smells) much better now!

When we got home, I realized that we forgot to pick up the hanging file folders-oops. We ended up picking those up last night, so my next "project" is to organize files-YIPPEE. I can hardly wait!
